Moneyball- costs per win

I thought this was a interesting statistic. Not just looking at the salaries each team paid but how many wins those dollars produced over the years. THis article covers 2004-2008. We are ranked 11th with a payroll of 516 million and 45 wins for a cost per win of 11.46.

If we extrapolate that to the past 2 years it gets pretty ugly- 9 wins and roughly 250 million or 27 million per win. If we only look at 2010 it is ridiculous costing us 56 million per win.

Where do you think we will rank this year???

Yeah we did rank 9th in wins over that time. If you think about it though, we had 2 great seasons over that time and nothing below 7-9. If you updated that over the last 5 years we have spend roughly 600 million and produced 36 wins for a cost per win of almost 17 million which put us much closer to the bottom of the list. And I don't think we are rocking at the very bottom if you look at the last 2 years. We have definitely been going in the wrong direction the past few years.
