CRUCIAL NFL Labor talks resume today... Link inside

From what I gathered from reading the article they need to end this by next Tuesday at the latest so that it doesn't effect training camps or pre-season games. Also they say that free agency MUST begin by no later than July 17th.

If these deadlines are not met, training camps won't go as planned and pre-season games will be missed. In Essense, the next 7 days are the most important to get a deal done... If one is not made, the rest of the regular offseason activities will be disrupted.

Everybody say a prayer and cross your fingers... We may be very close to the end here, barring any kind of further jack assery!

There's the link. I found it on my phone, so it's a mobile version. If you're at a CPU you can find it over at ESPN.

Just wanted to keep everybody informed

Edit: Rayzor or anybody else that follows twitter... Keeping us updated would be awesome!

Here's what Today and Tomorrow are going to be about.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6738786

Negotiations between the NFL and NFL players resume Tuesday in New York but the first two days are designated for work done by both sides' lawyers, primarily on the language of a potential agreement.

There is no expectation that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith will be participating together in the talks until Thursday and Friday when the lead negotiating teams resume their face-to-face discussions.

Sources on both sides continue to maintain that there remains significant work to be completed after negotiations almost disintegrated last week before "getting back on track." The same sources say that an agreement is within reach but unlikely to be achieved this week.

However, the attorneys' work on language is aimed at an expedited finishing process in the event the two sides do strike an agreement, which appears to be more likely next week.

Both sides agree that negotiations are delicate and potentially fragile.

    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
    • Would you trade a late pick for Will Levis to be our developmental QB?
