Where have you been???? They did not say anything all of us did not all ready know! Jr's role, rookies salary cap, how much we have to spend to get to 99% of the cap... all old non-groundbreaking news.

Never said it was ground breaking, it was simply offered to confirm many beliefs previously shared here at the huddle, and to offer more hope amidst the D-Will to Denver rumors etc. Take it as what it is, this is just a fan forum it's not that serious.

Not the article, the video. They talk about how J-Stew wants D-Will to stay, then they begint to talk about JR's role on the board for the CBA, and the lower rookie contracts which would allow spending to re-sign vets.

That doesn't really mean Carolina is any more likely to sign him. Every team is going to have lower rookie contracts to allow spending on vets.

Thanks for the link. Interesting. However, I see no way that re-signing DW is more important to the front office than these moves:

  • Re-signing Charles Johnson
  • Signing a DT in free agency (Mebane, Cofield are the front runners)
  • Extending Beason, Kalil
  • Signing a CB

Point about Denver: They are over the cap and need DT more than RB. However, they will cut/move some 3-4 players. They may not be in great position to land DW. Miami, NY Giants, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati could all use RBs.

Giants? Maybe not the best fit, but they are losing a back.

Pittsburgh? DW is a great change of Pace back for Mendenhall.

Cincinnati? Benson in trouble again, Palmer salary to be expunged from books.

My dark horse to steal DW: The St. Louis Rams. It worked when they brought in Marshall Faulk. Stephen Jackson is getting some mileage on him, but to take some load off him and Bradford, watch the Rams to throw an offer at DW. I have not read this anywhere, but it makes sense to me.

Is it impossible to sign D-will and still make these moves. I don't think D-Will is going to break the bank. I also doubt we're going to give one of those DT's a haynesworth type deal or that we go sign a CB to a crazy contract.

FYI- You should not make posts with definitive factual type of statements when it's based on nothing but an analyst speculation. There are countless writers, analyst, ect who makes predictions like this all the time.

Misleading... especially this time of year when people are going to be committing to teams.

yep..
