DeAngelo Free Agency Thread

From what I read last week, Denver doesn't have much cap room. I give us more than the 'slight edge' that Rotoworld does. Denver has so many needs, they would have to sacrifice quite a bit to get Williams...unless they are trying to poison pill us.

Being that they're changing from a 3-4 to a vanilla 4-3, they have to retool their whole defensive front... RB should NOT even be on their list of priorities right now, especially being that they haven't really even given Moreno a chance without injuries.

Moreno can't handle the pressure of the 3rd and 8 draw play.

DeAngelo- Also stated he wanted to retire a Carolina Panther

(JUST IN) T-Davis- No longer a free-agent

(JUST IN)- Charles Johnson said his contract hearing with the Panthers didn't go well..........IT WENT GREAT!:hurray:

Anderson- Said he loves it here, and wants to re-sign and we want to re-sign him

LOOK OUT SOUTH! PANTHERS ARE COMING ABOUT!

This may be the most homeristically optimistic first post in the history of the huddle.

I am getting a little nervous about the D-Will negotiations...

why? like has been said before, no team is moving all that quickly on this kind of thing. agents have been talking about how slow everything is moving across the board and lacanfora said that things aren't moving as quickly as possible because GMs are still trying to figure out the new rules, how much money they have to work with, and are also trying to clear cap room.

no need to worry at this point.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
