If this is true I hope Carolina is one of the teams

nfldraftupdate Dion Caputi

There is a report that "at least a dozen" teams are interested in free agent WR Plaxico Burress. Regarded as a bargain. Figures: 2/yr $10.5M

still don't get this.

35 year old has been who hasn't played for about 3 years and who has been in jail the last couple. was a real problem child before the dummy shot himself and was getting into trouble a lot.

why would we want that? just because vick did alright getting out doesn't mean any old convict will...and thats what plax is at this point.

Just so I'm clear, the impetus for cutting Brayton 12 hrs ago would be to save $3.5 million against the cap, but because Greg Hardy sustained a minor injury that will keep him out for two weeks it behooves them to forget about the $3.5 million they need to save?

Would he count that much against the cap if he doesn't make the roster?

I'm not sure how that owrks.

I never said he made 3.5 million. I did not even know that was how much he was making.

I was referring to this

The double back to 'opening day roster' happened after people pointed out he got a playbook the other day

did he give a time line inconsistent with what he said about him not making it to opening day roster?

and yes, even with the 3.5mil, keeping him around a little longer while waiting for hardy to completely heal makes a little sense. no rush.

Sorry, I just don't see the logic.

If you're holding onto Brayton knowing full well he'll just be camp fodder, then what's the point? You're either wasting first team snaps on him, or wasting developmental opportunities for younger players.

Furthermore, if he is to be just camp fodder, why not just sign a UDFA you don't need to pay as much?

Logically it just doesn't make any sense.

So you can give a guy you just paid a ton of cash to in Johnson rest and let someone else step in to get practice/preseason reps.
