Cam Interview Coming Up On NFLTA Soon

Kind of a boring interview, which is a good thing.

He really made his point about wanting to get Smitty back, saying that the only way to say it any more would be to start speaking different languages. But, he will respect any decision that he makes.

Said that he believes his contract will get done, and he is going to leave that job up to his agent.

^He basically said he's been working hard

Wants Smitty back and has lobbied in every way that he can... Joked that ^He was gonna start speaking foreign languages to get him to stay. Acknowledged that Smitty is at a crossroads and will respect him whichever choice ^He makes but really hopes Smitty stays...

About contract... ^He has no controll, it's on his agent, and he's ready to get rolling

Overall another candid interview and ^He seemed very humble...

Meh, it wasn't very informative. Was hoping to hear about the meetings and film stuff from today...

Mostly same stuff he's already said - perception vs. reality, he wants Smitty back, he's preparing the best he can and the rest will take care of itself.

SN: Is it just me, or is it funny how local media got their panties in a wad over his refusal to talk to them but he gave an interview to Steve Wyche - an Atlanta based reporter, lol.

Perfect opportunity for him to tell everyone that ^He knows the playbook already but didn't

Addressed the public's opinion of him and how if they have never talked to him or don't know him, then all ^He can do is work hard and price himself on the field...

He's downplaying himself if u ask me... Not trying to stand out at all... It's good, cause we all know ^He will show everybody on the field... But I'd like to see a hint of arrogance from him from time to time... We'll see

Hope this helped those of u who don't get NFL network

Steve Wyche said early this morning that he would have an exclusive interview with Cam today. He must have worked it out with the Panther PR people.

He should have answered it differently then.

He's mentioned this repeatedly in the past as well.

Think he answered it fine for now. If he had answered it in any other way it would be blown up all over about how he is still cocky, arrogant, blah blah...let him lay low for a bit while he gets the system down. Then he can show everyone on the field. Then he can say whatever the hell he wants imo.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
