Report: Redskins reach deal with NT Cofield http://dlvr.it/ck81y

The Redskins were fully expected to pursue Cofield, who will presumably replace Ma'ake Kemoeatu as the starting nose tackle in Jim Haslett's 3-4 scheme. Cofield bounced back nicely in 2011, grading out as a top-12 tackle in Pro Football Focus' ratings. Mike Shanahan's club is still expected to battle the Cowboys for free agent DE Cullen Jenkins this week.

Barry Cofield is expected to be the first target the Panthers go after from fee agents of other teams. St. Louis also very interested:confused:

Look for Paul Posluszny to get a monster contract from the Giants. Could be the first free agent to sign with another team.

Jerry Richardson is aware of the Kris Jenkins interview and is most offended about the part where he cares more about his investors than winning. That is one of the reasons he stressed his coittment to winning in his letter yesterday.

skins already making contact with Holmes. Mosnter contract offer coming:confused:

Number 1 goal for Tuesday is to get Newton signed. No visits are happening today or tonight.

Good News: Looks like the Skins will have both Franklin and Cullen Jenkins locked up by Friday leaving no room for Cofield. That leaves St. Louis as the Panthers biggest hurdle. The Giants expect to use money on MLB and RB so wont bring Cofield back.

I really did forget to post this this morning and rotoworld reminded me.

    • I forgot about Burrow, he is elite when healthy.
    • Solid in free agency, and lets not forget the draft--Most teams expect to get 2 starters/key contributors out of the draft.  3 is a banner year, but more common for bad teams.   Look at this draft: TMac.  Yes please.  Sorely needed since XL is becoming the road kill he often eats. DAY 2 Scourton.  Pay attention.  he is a stud and playing like one.  A second-round edge?  Rare. Princely.  He has flashed a bit, but he is developmental. Bothered by an ankle.   I expect him to step up, if he is going to, by year 3.  That is the year, if you think about it. we saw the emergence of Greg Hardy and Charles Johnson.  I have not seen him on the field much lately (injured?) but I noticed he was a liability vs. the run in the few plays I paid attention.  Too early to tell. DAY 3 Etienne.  As a returner and third RB, a key contributor for a fourth rounder. Ransom.  He has been contributing, and I have little doubt he will push Scott to pasture. Mitchell.  Perhaps Morgan's best pick.  A good blocking, pass catching TE with swag.  In round 5.  I think he is our best TE already. Horn.  They are finding ways to use him.  Yes, he reminds me of Steve Smith a bit during his first half season of his rookie year.  They did not really know what they had at that time.   Cam Jackson: A fifth rounder has not played much, but he was and is developmental.
    • What job did he get done?   He was an albatross around the teams neck and they won despite him
