I still find the New England slurping by the media ammusing.

Any of 31 other teams make this deal and they are flamed for it. New England does it and they are geniouses.

They seem to forget that the Patriots are not the dynasty that they want them to believe. They have not won a SB in the past 8 seasons. By the say they are stroked, you would think they win 4 out of every 5 championships.

Why is it a bad move for the Pats? They really have nothing to lose except a small (in football terms) amount of money. Low risk, high reward.

new england's been on a downslide since 2005, and it might even get worse

at first they one superbowls, then they won playoff games and made a superbowl but lost, and now they can't win playoff games. They're still good at beating teams like the lions by 30 points, but there's a real shift of power that's been happening in the AFC East to the Jets, and I think Rex is doing a better coaching job than Belichick, so you can't even say he's the best coach in his own division.

so the rich aren't getting richer
