Am I the only one who thinks we will be decent at CB?

I'm not saying we are great at CB. But our Pass defense was I believe around top 5-10 in the last couple of years. Richard Marshall played mostly nickel. Nickel. And he has not even been picked up by another team yet. Call me old fashion but I'm much more concerned about controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. I mean how many true shutdown corners are their in the league right now?

Ron Meeks is in charge of our secondary and most the young players we have on the team are guys he wanted to develop.

With Gamble and The Captain holding it down we should be ok. And no one give me some bullpoo argument about Captain's height. I like the kid he is young, I think he is capable.

I'm actually more concerned about our saftey play. I think Godfrey could step it up.

Am I the only one who thinks we should be more concerned about our offense? Do you guys remember watching our offense last year. If the touchdown was the hot cheerleader Carolina was the math nerd. The team scored less then the UNC chess club...

are you suggesting that we give marshall another contract? if we are going to be giving a CB a new contract, why wouldn't we try to get an upgrade. panthers don't seem to have any interest at all in bringing him back. seems like they want to move on.

and, no, we can't go with what we have currently on the roster. we HAVE to bring someone in...even if its just someone for a year or two.

we aren't fine there. crazy to think otherwise.

I don't believe we'd be ok. Other than Gamble, the rest of them are "meh". Unless Burney just surprises everyone and becomes a Josh Wilson type Corner. I think we are in need of a #2 CB.

You have to at least have 3 guys at CB that you trust to go out and do a good job in pass defense every game. We have 2 and need 1 more just for nickel packages. This isn't even taking into consideration depth for when someone gets hurt. Hogan might be able to come in and help at some point in the season, but it won't be anytime soon.

I think we bring in some bodies. I hope we do. But I also think Robert McClain/Godfrey/Pugh/Stanford could round out or DB core. That might be scary but then look at our O-Line/D-Line.

Is Nick Hayden going to start at DT? Is Otah going to be healthy? I'm much more concerned about those spots. If you looked at where we were ranked last year our run D and O-line were much worse then our secondary.

We need depth pretty bad, I like our guys don't get me wrong, but behind Gamble and Munnerlyn, McClain is still a bit raw IMO, Hogan is still recovering, and Burney is a UDFA. We need another body and I'm sure our FO knows these things if we all do.
