Am I the only one who thinks we will be decent at CB?

I feel like the only time I've seen Munnerlyn struggle was against Fitz last year. Sure he's given up a play or two here and there, but he is generally a very solid CB. I worry a little about his size sometimes too, but I think his heart and tenacity give him an edge. So I'm with you guys. . . I'd be fine if we got a solid nickel.

EDIT: Forgot about that game Jackofalltrades. . . that was his worst outing for sure

This.

I love Munny, he's a pitbull, but he gets abused by big guys. Look at what Hakeem Nicks did to him last year.

Heart of a Lion, body of a chihuahua.

Munny did way more man coverage than Marshall and was often against the number 1/2 reciever.

A lot of people got abused by Nicks Last year. I dun think height was the reason for Munny. If you look at the TDs I just thought he was having a bad game. His coverage was fine and then at the last minute he played the ball wrong. He was a rookie the year before that, and had not started much, He got much better as the year went on.

I dun think any of the TDS were out of his range, they weren't like crazy ariels that Nicks had to jump for. Maybe one was, it was a long time ago.

I think I just have a lot more faith in Captain than a lot of people.

He also got penalized to all hell in that game. And in the Atlanta Game if I recall.

He's just not suited to face bigger Wideouts. Great Nickle, though.

Wishing Hogan would be 100% right now, he'd probably be starting to be honest.

Thinking about it now, if we do land a guy in their late 20's early 30's, sign them for a couple years, the next couple of years we can get a quality CB in future drafts. Develop them while the stop gap guy is there. Although Gamble is getting older as well.

I really don't think it's big guys Munnerlyn struggles with. I just think he makes too many mental mistakes. He seems to be the one that's never on the same page, with the safety over the top of him.

He takes a lot of risk as well. I guess you can say he's a high risk high reward type player. Here's two examples that come to mind.

1. BnR is his strength as well as his weakest. He seems to leave his feet at times when he BnR, and when he lands it, he can throw the best of them off their route, but when he doesn't, well..... see Hakeem Nicks 2nd TD for results.

2. Munnerlyn guesses on a lot of plays at times, instead of just doing his job. There has been slant routes were he's been extremely successful at this, and there has been, well.....see Antonio Bryant 2009, 200yd game for examples of when he's not successful.
