No, he wanted more money that he didn't deserve, and he had to settle for a cheap 1 year deal in Arizona because of it.

Rivera must not know we're in a division with Brees', Freeman, and Ryan. Who pass heavily. Brees is very good against the blitz so that isn't gonna stop him.

That's what we drafted him for and he's a better cover guy. Why would you want your worst cover safety as a CB?

Why take your best S and move him to a position he has never played.

If they want a CB they should go get one. I hated that about the Fox era.....Godfrey sucks as a S bc he doesn't understand where to be as a S. Still think they should see what Godfrey can do at CB. Great athlete.....

Pugh is a coverage safety and will be best to be paired with a non-coverage safety in Godfrey. Martin and Pugh are FS where Godfrey is a SS. Martin would be our best CB option out of our defensive backfield to be the #2 CB. CB is harder than playing Safety so it's best to have the best option there in our situation if we don't get Rogers or anyone else (the choices out there are next to zero after Rogers).

Teams may be apprehensive about signing Rogers for the money he wants after he had knee surgery in the off season. Probably why he is still available.

If the Panthers don't get him, I am sure they can find someone before the season starts from the many players that teams have to let go by week 1.

While that may not be ideal, hopefully our pass rush and blitz packages can help the CB's out.
