Cotchery

stirs

Recommended Posts

Michael Lombardi reported on NFL Network Monday that Jerricho Cotchery is available in trade for "the right price in the right deal."

The Jets have explored the "possibility of trading Cotchery," in large part to utilize his cap space for other moves. Even if they're not admitting it publicly, Cotchery's offseason back surgery is also a factor. Unless the right price is a mid-to-late round pick, we don't envision Cotchery drawing much interest as a health risk coming off a disappointing season. Aug 1, 11:59 AM

I still don't think we are going after a WR. They plan on developing the young ones we already have.

We could be set at WR but if it seems like a reasonable deal, this would be a solid move.

...but I really think Gettis should be #2 and eventual #1...I'm crossing my fingers there's no sophomore slump with LaFell or Gettis. That's what we're banking on in a big way for our passing game

it'd be like a slap in the face to Gettis and Lafell to bring in a guy when they showed so much promise last season. Let the young guys play to their potential, they havnt given us any reason not to support them.

I agree, we have a bunch of WR's that can show that they have waht it takes. Not only do we have Gettis/Lafell/Edwards, but also have Adams, Pilares, Guy, Wright, Clowney...

That is a bunch of WR's and we should be able to find the starters we need from them. Personally I hope Adams and Pilares break out, giving us a 5 WR set that can dominate.

    • BPA in draft all the way. Address your biggest needs in free agency.
    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
