I have never rode a motorcycle before, but I am interested in learning more about it.

So, Is it acceptable for a man to ride an automatic transmission motorcycle, such as a Ridley?

Yes, this is fine. Just make sure you get the Ridley with the basket on the handlebars to hold your purse.

The local community colleges offer them for about a 100 bucks. And it covers part of the requirement for getting a Motorcycle license.

As far as learning the gears on a Bike, they are a lot easier than a car in my opinion.

I learned how to ride a motorcycle when I was 8. You can figure it out don't be scared.

take the class. it offers a lot more than learning to shift which is really just a matter of learning where the friction point is.
