I think you guys really under value late round picks.

Just recently, David Gettis and Captain Munnerlyn were 6th and 7th round picks.

Would you trade either of those guys for Taylor Mays?

I was thinking about this when we traded for Olson. I saw it was a third and was like, damn why couldn't it have been a 2nd? Hurney sucks in the second round and better in the 3rd and later rounds. Although AE is trying to change that for him from what I'm reading about in practice.

We often do trade our 6th and 7th round picks. 6th for Louis Leonard last year, 7th for Josh Mccown year before that.

he's real fast, he's just not good at... what's it called again... oh yeah that's right... playing football

OK so maybe he is raw. the same thing has been said about hundreds of players after their first seasons who went on to have good careers.

Not arguing just have yet to see him graded out enough to believe the guy cannot play football.

I love your SN btw

One huge glaring critique at Taylor Mays is that high own college coach, who likes his own guys, (Pete Carrol) passed over him in the draft picked a different safety.

This is the most damning thing of his career.

And now, a year later, the 49ers want to trade him.

No, Thanks.

AdamSchefter Adam Schefter

Former Bills S Donte Whitner did NOT go to Cincinnati. He agreed to a 3-year, $11.75 million deal with $4 million gtd with the 49ERS.

Thats likely why he is being traded. And when he ran a 4.24 at the combine there was an error, his real time was 4.43 i think.

Wouldn't mind having him, with the right coaching he could be a hell of a safety. Hes great run support, but routinely gets caught with his eyes in the backfield and gets burned deep.

Can't believe people are still trying to hype Taylor Mays. There's a reason Carroll didn't want him and he fell so far in the draft. He's not a very good football player who will always be out of position. Good luck teaching him instincts. But hey, he'll tear it up in the weight room! That'll help us win games, right?

    • Wide Receiver: Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers – 85.3 One of the more shocking developments of the 2025 NFL season has been the Carolina Panthers’ ascension to the top of the NFC South, which they achieved with Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. Perhaps nobody has made a bigger difference than former eighth overall pick Tetairoa McMillan, who continued to be a steady presence in the Panthers’ offense. McMillan caught six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the win Tight End: Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers – 91.1 Evans only saw the field for 16 snaps, but he was efficient in his limited playing time. He caught all three of his targets for 23 yards on just six receiving snaps while also grading well in pass protection (72.2 grade) and as a run-blocker (68.4) Edge Defender: Nic Scourton, Carolina Panthers – 77.9 The former second-rounder out of Texas A&M has been a force along the Panthers’ defensive line, and he was a key contributor in Carolina’s huge win over the Buccaneers. Scourton recorded two stops as a run-defender and added another while in coverage. Scourton also tallied his sixth sack of the year while contributing another pressure to the mix Safety: Lathan Ransom, Carolina Panthers – 75.7 Another Carolina Panther on this week’s list, Ransom has typically been stronger in run defense — he carries an 85.2 grade in that field on the season. But Sunday against the Buccaneers was his best day in coverage. Ransom intercepted his only target, which wound up being the game-winner that put the Panthers in the driver’s seat in the NFC South
