Carolina and Denver in Trade Talks for Peppers......**RUMOR**

Theres a rumor..........repeat:rumor...........from someone on one of our message boards with someone that has inside info that the Broncos are in negotiations with Carolina for Peppers.

The trade.......supposedly........is for two Broncos players and a draft pick.

Two of the guys speculated on our boards is Payton Hillis and Tony Scheffler.

Hillis has the best hands on our team bar none, and Scheffler when healthy can dominate LBers in the receiving game.

Both of these guys will help your pass starved offense. They are checkdown weapons that force teams to adjust.

Hillis was a proven playmaker last year, and you will LOVE him if that were the case. We simply wont be using a FB anymore with the new offense.

None of the Broncos fans are keen on the idea of these players leaving........but its also capped with a pick........a second or third.

Any thoughts?

BTW..........if youre gonna paste me........dont bother. heh heh

why in the world would the panthers trade for a third running back when they have deangelo and stewart? hillis would never see the field.

i'd like sheffler, but frankly the value isn't there for a third wheel and tight end.

throw cutler in it then we'll talk

Pretty sure Julius has yet to sign the tender.

Hillis is supposed to be more of a Fullback, than HB, so in that scenario he would be the future for Hoover.

Not so sure about the TE though, doesn't seem to make sense to me although he was a first rounder, and he is pretty good.

I guess the pick would have to be a 2nd for it to make any sort of sense to me.

Edit: I'm with Fiz on that one though

Cutler is gonna be too busy carving up defenses for us........sorry.

As for Hillis........hes alot more than you think. The man makes plays, and as I said, he has the BEST hands on the team.

Meh. A boring trade with no sources? *leaves*

As I said, only source comes from someone who claims to have a friend..........you know the story.

But boring? Never.

And one thing you cant deny...........DENVER is on the hunt.

so he could be the pass receiving specialty rb/fb on a team with two bette runningback that has no use for him

    • One word to describe next year's QB draft class...DEEP!  To me, this is Bryce's make or break year.  The organization probably doesn't feel that way and will likely anoint him as the starter to at least 2027 no matter what.  Some of these dude's will likely stay in college, but the bulk of them will be coming out.  Manning and Sellers are two probably staying. That's not to say that the 2027 QB class will be crappy or thin, because I honestly don't know.  It usually does skip at least a year--or more, but rarely two bumper crops of QBs in consecutive years. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2026/story/_/id/45453107/2026-nfl-draft-quarterback-class-top-prospects-klubnik-sellers-manning
    • I think Ransom will be a solid player for us.  He played beside Caleb Downs, the cornerstone of the Ohio State defense last year and some have him as a top 5 pick for the 2026 draft.  He was characterized as the smart, instinctive, versatile safety.   I just don't think S will be a liability unless we have injuries.  I am very interested in seeing what they have in the three UDFA safeties; I see one making the roster. As for CB, I think they are higher on Wade-Smith than most of us are. Again, depth is a concern.  We have to hope Jackson has another solid season and Horn does not injure his leg or toe on one of the yard lines.   I am not sure I would compare it to last season's DL because this year's DL will cover a lot of deficiencies, but I know what you mean---our weak link.
