A qb poll ....

You start Clausen, anyone who wouldn't is an idiot. I don't care if you have Peyton Manning on the roster if you have a QB who is performing at that high of a level (120+ passer rating) then you have to ride them to the promised land. Especially when said QB is only 23 years old. As for trading Cam if Clausen were to perform at that high of a level throughout a season and hypothetically a team was willing to give up an early to mid first round pick and a impact player or more picks then you pull the trigger in a heartbeat....

I like the idea of keeping both of them; how can you go wrong with two good, YOUNG, QB's on your team?

Not to mention, they each bring something different to the table. Cam with his legs brings a whole different dimension and using both guys would keep defenses on their toes.

Because if one is playing like Johnny U. Then the other is only sitting on the bench. Instead of having a bench player that player could be traded so that we get a starter(s) who will contribute on the field making the team much better and stronger for a SB run.

How about this...

Jimmy is getting the start vs the Giants... he lights it up and on Monday is headed to the WCO Redskins for value. Panthers pick up another CB or DT, Anderson starts the season. Everybody happy.

Who do the Skins have at CB or DT of value...

Edit only guy I see is DeAngelo Hall at CB and not only is he overrated but I don't think Hall and Smitty on the same team is a great idea....they REALLY don't like each other....

And what happens if he gets hurt? Or comes out the next season and plays like Matt Moore did? Trading him you have nothing, keeping him you have a good young replacement

And what happens if Cam Newton never reaches the level that this board (for the most part) thinks he will. Not saying I think he's going to be a bust but if you're playing what if you have to play all sides...

HMMM, I don't think you can say that around here but good point

Meh, I'll take my chances...I like to ruffle feathers. And fwiw until he was drafted I hated Jimmy Clausen (being a USC fan) so just wanted to get that out there before I got called a JCJS...

    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
    • I can respect the fact that we should not glorify or normalize men who have a history of beating women.  I do not think anyone was thinking of that when they posted this, but if head-butting your wife and unconsensual sex (rape) is something you cannot overlook, I agree with that.  I think they are both half-crazed attention hounds regardless of their pasts.
