A qb poll ....

Lets pretend for a moment that Jimmy Jam comes out and looks like the second coming of Johnny Unitas. He is killing it, 120 QB rating. He is fired up and the team rallies behind him...

what do you do?

Boo? No wait... cheer? Yeah cheer! And possibly get drunk. But seriously my feelings toward Clausen are directly linked to his play. He comes out and kills it, then I'm with him 100%. Cam who?

Hope he perform well enough so we can trade him, and get a good draft pick. Cam will be the best QB comes September 11, 2011 on the depth chart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Cam has a long, long way to go. At this point sounds like he should be third on the chart behind both Clausen and Anderson. Come September 11, 2011 you could be right but I highly doubt it.

Preforming that well, trade Cam. Keeping both is silly, as both could (in this situation it seems are) good QBs who can be successful NFL starters, and the money Jimmy would want/deserve added onto the money Cam would want/require.

Keep Cam for another season and see if Jimmy can stay consistent, if he does then Cam is traded for a high draft pick and maybe something else to help the team to another team that is in a situation similar to what the Cardinals were in during the past year.

If Jimmy plays like a probowler, you have to reward that. There's no point of going "Cam could be 'that guy' " if you already have "that guy". Keep Cam for another year and see how well Jimmy does. If Jimmy flops, it's open competition again, if not, THEN you trade Cam.

I like the idea of keeping both of them; how can you go wrong with two good, YOUNG, QB's on your team?

Not to mention, they each bring something different to the table. Cam with his legs brings a whole different dimension and using both guys would keep defenses on their toes.

Given we have not gottem through a season with the same starter at Qb since 2008 and before that 2005, we would keep both of them. Given they are both under contract long term and are relatively cheap, why trade or get rid of either of them until the end of 2012 at the earliest??

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
