Practice Observations

Mr. Scot

What health issues are you dealing with Mr. Scot? (unless you want to keep it private) Either way, prayers for you brother.

Long story there

Was so weak earlier this year that I could barely even walk. Had to have help from friends just to do basic things. Was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis but later found a combo of sleep apnea and diabetes was at the root.

Much better now though :D

Mr. Scot, you represent the BEST of what NFL fans have to offer. I appreciate you. Enjoyed the article.

I was most interested in your take on the QB situation. It sounds like you think Clausen is the best choice to start the season, but that Cam will get the nod ("thrown to the wolves" was your phrase). Do you think this would be for promotional reasons (putting butts in the seats) or tactical reasons (Cam gives us the best chance to win)?

In your opinion, which QB gives the Panthers the best chance to win on any given Sunday?

Also, You mentioned that Fua looks like a good player at DT. Do you think we have enough skill at that position to have an effective pass rush this season?

--I'll take your comments off the air.;)

Thanks, Mr. Scot

There's a whole other thread in the QB thing, honestly.

I'm not a fan of starting rookies early, but it can work. My default would be to start Anderson (and I'm not an Anderson fan) but that could just be some residual John Fox energy getting to me.

I know this. If Rivera and company start Newton, it will be because they think that is the best thing to do. I don't think Rivera cares about image. Winning is what makes your image better. Start the guy who gives you the best chance to win.

Who would that be? Gun to my head I say Derek Anderson, but I don't believe that'll happen. You could make valid arguments for each guy though (and that could be good, or bad) :sosp:

On DT, I'd feel a lot better if Ron Edwards hadn't been hurt. Still wouldn't be surprised if we picked up a late cut there, but we have guys who can at least execute the scheme.

I see one glaring omission .......

The P_L sighting! ;)

Au contraire :D

Met up with previously acquainted JackofAllTrades and Panthers Lover prior to practice. Also had PantherFanB introduce himself (recognized me from the jersey). All good folks.
