VY's issues's weren't the mental aspect of the game.......it was mental/emotional problems as a person.

He proved as a rookie the game wasn't too big for him going to the Pro Bowl.

my bad, here I was thinking W/L were important when talking about every QB........just not VY.

when a player can't handle the game....you get Clausen type results. Team becomes irrelevent.

VY wasn't strong emotionally, but the talent was there. he was/sis a high maintenance player who landed on the wrong team with an old, stale, and overrated coach in jeff fisher who liked developing players as well as john fox.

it's not all fisher's fault, but he has to take a lot of the blame. he didn't handle the situation right. both VY acted immaturely. considering that that VY was still just a kid, it's understandable..not acceptable, just understandable. fisher, on the other hand considering his age and his years of being a head coach, has less excuse for handling the situation well. neither guy was good for the team. both deserved to get the boot.

hopefully for young he will learn how to handle the pressures and criticisms that come along with the job and he ends up on a team and in a system that will utilize his strengths and won't just see him as damaged goods but as a still essentially young project that can still be developed into a respectable performer. fortunately he's got a lot of tools to work with and a good bit of experience behind him.

but you don't consistantly aid you teams in the NFL to wins at the QB position if you suck. If you suck and are a bust.....you aid your team to losses. If you watch enough games.....that theme overall consistantly plays out.

Alex Smiths team just gave him an extension, yet he's widely accepted as a bust. Just because he wasnt cut doesnt make him a success. How did the Titans fare without VY last year? They won 1 game without hi and none the year prior. Equating the Alex Smiths, Ryan Leafs, Matt Leinarts, Tim Couches, and David Carrs (true busts with losing records) to a winning QB like VY whos had teams rally behind him before is a reach.
