what happens when too many people come to your wedding?

So we are getting married next weekend and we paid for 75 people. Well it looks like now somewhere around 115 will be there. Almost everyone we invited is coming. The place has $250 deposit and will keep it if we go over but is that all or do they try to collect more? Because i am tapped out.

Depends on what your contract with the caterer/venue says. Since you say they will keep your $250 deposit, that may be the only thing in the contract. I would check the fine print.

Our issue is how do we tactfully say no children at the ceremony/reception?

I wanted to say Adult Reception but it sounded too much like a porno

yeah, what biscuit said.. years and years ago my cousin said this about her wedding and reception. my sis and I were the only 1s allowed and everyone still was considerate and understanding.

unless y'all are related to a bunch of low life imbred f**kers who love drama, most should be cool. you 2 are young and want to have a good time, shouldn't be that hard to digest for most..

then again, I think I got tired of catering to everyone's bullshit.. not as tactful as I used to be..

I talked to them today, and they said if we had 15 or 20 extra people then it would not be a big deal. They do not expect us to know exactly how many people are coming. She said if it was like 40 or 50 more then it would be a problem. I dont know what kind of problem, but I just told her that I doubt more than 90 people would come. I guess we shall see what happens. If she tells me after that I had 120 people there, I will just be like, No way! Show me a head count. lol

I'm a little confused. This is the venue you're renting for the ceremony only? It may only seat a certain number of people.

No we are having the wedding and the reception at he same place. It can hold up to 400 people. There may not be enough chairs set up (they are setting the place up to accommodate 75 people) and we may run out of food, is the problem. We paid for 75 people at $26 per person. Our first count about 6 months ago, we came up with that amount. Now that we know about who all is coming it is looking like it will be closer to 100. So 25 or so people will not have a place to sit, I guess, and we may run out of food. (Taco Bell is open late!) If they did end up sending us a bill for more people I would not have a problem paying it, I just got nothing left to give them this week. I just dont see them getting all bent out of shape over a couple $100 when we have paid them well over $600 already. Plus they can keep the $250 deposit, I really did not expect to get that back anyway.

Most caterers prepare for at least a 10% overage on food.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
