Post your reaction when the New Orleans Saints signed Panther legend John Kasay

Apparently John Kasay isn't intrested in playing for the 1978 Saints squad...

As you just said they are winning now, and John Kasay just signed with them now. All I'm saying is that you can't blame a guy for wanting a chance to win a superbowl before his career ends, just like Olin Kruetz is as well.

Don't you have to make it past the wildcard round of the playoffs against a team with a losing record before you win the SB?

Playoff birth first young padawan, all in good time.

I didn't realize that so much of the blame for the SB loss was placed on Kasay, especially with how beloved he is in Carolina.

Right, except this is the same core team that won the SB 2 years ago - so they're regressing. Take it from a fan of a team that came within 4 points of winning the whole thing and never got past the 1st round of the playoffs again, the window closes quickly.

I don't blame him for the SB loss, but spotting the Pats the ball on the 40 yard line certainly didn't help our cause. They won it with a 41 yard FG as the clock expired, you move them back just 10 yards and who knows what would have happened?

We might have not gotten there without Kasay, but he balanced that out by letting us down when we were so close...

Panthers went 7-9 after their superbowl birth; Saints went 11-5 and returned to the playoffs.

Saints have a hall of fame QB still in his prime; Panthers had Jake...

Saints will regress in 5-6 years when Drew's next contract is up.

Yes, but that 7-9 Panthers team was plagued with injuries and the end result is the same.

  • Jake threw for 323 yards and 3 TD's with no interceptions in SB 38.

  • Drew threw for 288 yards and 2 TD's with no interceptions in SB 44.

You tell me who had the better performance?

Brees is very good, but not good enough to put the team on his back and beat the 7-9 Seahawks apparently.

Saint's at the top for another 7 years?

Brees already began his descent last year. You better hope you find a diamond in the rough at QB or you have another 2-3 seasons at most near the top of the South.

Carolina, Tampa, and Atlanta's stock are all on the rise, Nawlin's is the only team whose stock is falling, and since it took 40 years for NO's management to finally get it together, I wouldn't count on their brilliance keeping you alive.

You aren't going to magically find another elite QB in Free Agency again.

Enjoy these next couple seasons, because once mole face comes back down, the Aint's will go right back to where they belong. The swamp. And I'm not just talking about that vile pond all you inbreds live in.

That 7-9 team also let a lot of good players get poached during free agency.

Breesus is no longer in his prime. It's a good thing you Taints got your one when you could. Now you have something to hang in your rafters other than ticket sales records.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
