We are going to get rolled!

According to the Herd, on Espn Radio.

He said we weren't very good against vanilla schemes, and there is no way we survive more complex schemes on either side of the ball.

Also said Arizona has to many weapons, and an efficient QB in Kolb. We dont have enough weapons and the only game Cam played well in was the Steeler game, and that was for 1 series against their backups. :nono:

Thoughts?

Arizona has Fitzgerald and not much else. They do NOT have "many weapons".

they have a QB i nKolb that could not muster a winning record on a very good team....and who has 1 TD in the preseason. He is the QB flavor or the month, but will prove to be completely over-hyped.

Eagles raped the Cards in that trade....and the Cards just don't know it yet.

eh, selective logic.

Mike Vick looked horrific against vanilla preseason defenses as well.......

Kolb has proven to be inconsistant at this point in his career....he would have to come out w/ one of his good days. Cowherd seems to be banking on that.

Oh boy, the "vanilla scheme" conundrum again.

if you asked Cowherd when was the last time he watched a full Panther game....or even a full quarter. Dude couldn't tell you.

Can't fault him for presenting the "standard national Carolina view". We sucked last year and now have a new HC, O, D, and rookie QB. With no OTAs and that heading into week 1......we really should get rolled.

Just an FYI, we will be in the "gonna get rolled" prediction category all season.

That being said, I'm starting Cam Newton in my fantasy league this week. I know things.

(Like Peyton Manning will not play so I have no choice)

I can't blame him. Look at how both Cam & the whole team looked in the preseason.

Yeah, Cam's a rookie that missed 1500 snaps so he'll get better as the year goes on, but will the guys that have been here for years that are blowing coverages get better?

I don't know about getting rolled by the Cards, but the Greenbay game could get real ugly, real fast.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
