Panthers Scouting Pat White hard

i think if we take pat white he needs to put on weight..he looks too thin to be a NFL QB.but then you have to say the panthers will not have 4 QBs on the roster.

so i think if we take him on the roster he will be a WR but i think he will be a QB for us.

He has actually put on 8-9 pounds since the offseason began he is up to 197. Figure by OTA's he will be around 205.

On another note Coach Stewart wouldnt let White go out at WR today. That will raise a red flag as it sounds like he is not doing good with the wr drills. Might drop him to the 4th round.

IMO we need to get our needs taken care of first. White is a extra that would be nice but not a need right now.

I'm hoping we get one next year, even if we did grab White.

Maybe Fox and co. are seeing him as a Vick type player, ya know drop back and pretend you are actually gonna throw it and then just run it for a first down. Fits the running philosophy.

Hell we're used to seeing 1int for every TD anyway, I'm sure he wouldn't do much worse than that, plus it doesn't take a 1st rounder to heave the ball to Smith.(who has to pull catches out of his ass anyway)

Could you imagine the defense chasing our RB's around, then having to chase White around? Could work.

i think its stupid for people to say he will never amount to a NFL QB and he is never played a snap in the NFL.I feel pat white can be something

if you think about it we are the perfect team for a QB like him we focus on the running game and that helps any QB out. and fox will take the time to bring him along instead of throwing him out their like a matt ryan

so what happens when the other defence put's 8 guys on the line to keep white contained...i don't trust him as beng a elite passing QB in the nfl..hell i'd rather have v.young at least he's played in the nfl for a few years

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
