Our best bet for beating the Packers is run the ball, eat up the clock and keep their offense off the field. Green Bay won last night because they dominated the time of possession and wore down the Saints defense. After half, Brees and the Saints went more to a running attack with good success.

They can be beaten but not by a team trying to outscore them like NO does. You have to keep the game more low scoring and at least equal their time of possession. Otherwise they have too many weapons and Rodgers is too good to get into a shoot out.

We did that against the colts remember? it was like 3 years ago. Didnt work out so well and I think our defense was better then.

Yeah. He does.

Both Green Bay and New Orleans looks scary as hell right now.

Although... I'm encouraged by what Green Bay did to New Orleans run D. I had a suspicion that the 'aints D was a question mark. I'm hoping that can translate to points with our O as well.

Saints were also missing a Pro Bowl DE last night, something that's worth not overlooking.

When the hell have we ever been a top team in the league for more then a year?

When have we ever had a QB who has been consistent from year to year. Last nite was another confirmation that this is a QB league. It's highly improbable that even a great defensive team can win consistently without a very good QB.

And the malcontents crawl out of their rocks to take a light hearted joke out of context.

And the homers continue to give the old man a pass at every single turn, and always will until he retires. Joke? Of course. Any truth to what he said? Of course. Did he make up the joke out of thin air? Of course not. He saw how good GB looks, just like we all did last night when we said they'll kick our ass. The truth hurts. GB is lightyears better than we are. He knows it, we know it. Thus, his inferior team will be beat. Don't hate the truth, JOAT.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
