Shh!! Don't jinx it!

Oh come on! I have been waiting forever to say this. That's not a hyperbole: forever. Since the Panthers first existed. We've never really had that.

The best we ever had was saying it but also adding "depending on which version of Delhomme shows up today". We always had to be extra careful when talking positive about passing, and add emergency exit and save face clauses in every argument. We could never actually say it without the "asterisks". Now we can. And I'm not jinxing.

 Now you've done it! Now it's too late to stop it. :willy_nilly:

in all seriousness, I'm not ready to take the leap you are. It was one game... one great passing game, but I want to see us look dangerous in the air again before I join you diving off the deep end.

hopefully when we beat green bay behind Newton burning one of the best defenses in the league, there will still be room on the passing game bandwagon for me ;)

Only rush 4 and drop 7 into coverage... I hope green bay takes note so next week Williams, Stewart and Cam can rush for 422

Chad Pennington talked about this somewhat in his interview on WFNZ and basically AZ, while they Blitzed alot, did try the above approach during the game as well and it didnt work either. I also recall them discussing that during the game. Cam was equally effective and that is why they just went back to the all blitzing.

I am sure Cam will have difficulties against teams who play more coverage, and disguise it also, but AGAIN Cam was effective throwing against zone coverage. So let Greenbay do that

My biggest concern is 1) the defense and 2) scoring enough points. You would think if a QB throws for 400+ yards a team would have scored more than 21 pts.

Nothing wrong with that. Personally, I just wanted to be able to go ahead and get it in there while I can LEGITIMATELY make that statement. It also helps when it's the first game of the season, because it sets a precedent.

I mean even if you're correct, Green Bay isn't going to be practicing as if we're going to go back to our old ways for next Sunday's game, hence the point of this thread.

It's one game, and I have no problem with anyone wanting to remain more level headed. But this one game does seem to have caught everyone's attention already, and that may be a good and bad thing, and is already shaking things up in our opponent's playbooks.

If GB expected to stack the box against us based on our previous seasons performance, something tells me, they're scrambling for changes this week.

I am really pumped for what Cam did, but we had a damn good single passing game last year too and we couldn't really duplicate the success again so I'm a little reluctant to get too excited. On the other hand, I do think Cam's the kind of player that is only going to get better... which has me pretty excited.

To be honest, I'm starting to see what Bo Jackson saw, and I agree... Cam Newton is scary.
