And this is from his peers... Both possibly the best at their position. Everyone digging for negativity, keep stammering over your words - this is the truth.

“He was everything we saw on film,” Matthews said afterward. “He made all the throws that he needed to down the field and really all over the field. We gave him a little too much. … He’s going to be a good quarterback in this league.

“Obviously he can make plays with his feet, as well. That’s two solid games for him.”

...

“I’m impressed, I’m real impressed with the way he has played,” Rodgers told me after the game. “He throws the ball real well and he moves well. He has been impressive for two weeks. I didn’t see him a whole lot last week but seeing him in person today, he has a chance to be a really, really, really good player.”

Second, Newton still has a way to go, as evidenced by his two second-half interceptions (and three overall) that tipped the game in Green Bay’s favor.

Yes, his Panthers stand at 0-2 in the standings, but Newton’s stature around the league–and with his teammates–continues to grow.

“I wouldn’t have been able to do that,” Rodgers added about Newton’s back-to-back 400-yard passing games in his first two NFL starts. “I really wouldn’t. For him to come in and play the way he has the first two weeks is incredible. It really is. You don’t expect it from a rookie.

“You don’t expect a guy to come in and be able to be efficient as he has been and make the plays that he has,” Rodgers continued.

“I’m impressed.”

And at this point in his career, that’s all you can ask of Cam Newton.

Loving it.

I saw them talking after the game, it seems like a lot of the GB players were talking it up with our players.

I know Smith and Woodson were talking for a bit, probably a good bit of mutual respect among the two teams.

Ya smitty had woodson in a pretty intense embrace whispering something into his ears. More than likely tossing a ton of respect his way.

Cam Newton is first QB in history to throw for 400 yds in his 1st 2 games and only 6th QB to have back-to-back 400 yd games period.

Just interviewed Charles Woodson on the field. Says he is extremely impressed w/Cam Newton after today, despite Newton's rookie stumbles

TBH Cam has been doing everything he can to win. We need our other players to step up and play that way as well.

Agreed. No doubt the turnovers hurt, but he's a rookie and will learn from it... But, again, that's also to be expected when we're asking our rookie QB to be our entire offense.

It's a tough order, but many people need to realize how good he actually is doing right now. It's not just an aberration, the guy is setting records and making history and this is his first attempt, lol.

    • You guys remember when the narrative on here was that Bryce would be chronically injured in the NFL due to his size and Anthony Richardson would be super durable due to his? You remember when the narrative was that Bryce was physically incapable of throwing a ball further than 20 yards in the NFL? You remember “I’ll stop complaining when he throws for more than 200 yards and looks like an NFL quarterback”? You remember when 60 sacks was his fault and not the offensive line, slow WRs, and terrible scheme? Pepperidge Farm remembers. It will always be something for some people. Whatever insanity they come up with will be quickly dropped to move on to the next thing. Bryce could have an MVP Super Bowl winning season and they would complain that we can’t run the tush push with him. It will always be something.
    • For the Panthers fans still low on Bryce and demanding that he be a top-10 QB this upcoming season: What stat(s) will you need to see? Not the vibe you want, but rather what does he need to be top-10 in specifically? Passing yards? Completion percentage? Win-loss record? PFF grades? EPA? CPOE? Asking because this was asked before and... well... it ended up that the folks down on him didn't care about the numbers as much as they cared that they just couldn't get passed his size regardless of how he performed. It would be nice to get a straight-forward answer to that without the usual deflection and redirecting.
