JP Losman is another former 1st round QB. He stands at 6'3 220 lbs. Primarily a pocket passer, he's thrown 33 TDs and 34 INTs. He's never been in a playoff game and has a winning percentage of .323.

He has never had a Steve Smith, a Mushin Muhammad or a Stephen Davis either. He has also never had a tandem like Williams and Stewart.

Numbers alone only tell the whole story to people who don''t have a clue what they are looking at to begin with. Numbers are half the story at best.

And again, maybe if numbnuts Marty Hurney hadn't bet the farm on Julius landing us the motherload, we would not have to be shopping on the clearance aisle.

I am happy they are looking.

He had a Lee Evans and Eric Moulds. He also had a young McGahee. The guy got benched for Holcomb and Edwards. The numbers dont lie. If he came here it would be David Carr 2.0. We need a new QB, but is JP Losman really the answer? Why dont we DRAFT our own stud instead of thinking we can fix somebody else's bust?

I'm not saying I disagree with your general idea, but I don't know if anybody can be that bad... Carr was a mental case from day one.

I think right now I would rather see us draft a lower round QB prospect than pick up some FA that hasn't made it somewhere else... but who knows, the next star is out there somewhere.

I'd prefer to draft our own bust or stud personally.

true.

i'm not sold on the idea of rushing out to find a replacement for jake right away but losman is not the answer in either case.

those jumping at any and every available QB is aiming too low and letting emotion cloud good judgment. blind hatred for jake is just as bad as blind loyalty...maybe even worse.

    • Most of the ACC would fare similarly. Maryland is a far more accomplished football program historically and they have yet to ever finish above .500 in conference play since leaving the ACC.
    • As I mentioned earlier, Carolina to the SEC would be an absolute disaster for them.  Vandy would love it though, there would be a new whipping boy.
    • Two things I completely nailed in week one: - Arch Manning hype was utterly absurd - Bill Belichick hype was utterly absurd  Manning literally couldn't beat out a 5th round draft pick and in one case the current Oregon St. starting QB. Somehow we are supposed to believe that a kid that is being billed as literally one of the greatest QB's in college football history to the extent that they ranked his team #1 yet somehow sat for two years behind an oft injured Quinn Ewers? Never won that job from Ewers last season, either. Three years of college football and this kid still looks like a college freshman. Bill Belichick couldn't get employed in the NFL because the game had obviously passed him by and he has no ability to handle anything less than complete control. What could possibly go wrong when a stubborn, inflexible 73 year old on his first CAREER CFB job gets paired with a historically bottom half/third college football program in a P5 conference??? Well, welcome to college football, Bill's GF. Turns out massive roster turnover and just simply telling everyone you are the "33rd NFL team" doesn't erase the advantages that dozens and dozens of football programs have over you because that's the way college football has always been.
