NO Notice for Jacksonville?

The Jags aren't leaving Jacksonville for a while. The Raiders and Chargers are more likely. This was brought up in all three threads about Jags vs Panthers...

How sure are you about this....would you say about as sure as Luke McCown being able to be an average QB...

I said he could be, and he showed he could be. Look at week 1, average, right? Just looked it up, and I definitely wrote that even LM can be an average QB. Nice try though.

So you don't think Garrard could do better then 17-24 for 175 and no tds....because you said McCown was better then Garrard....I know Garrard could do better then 6-19 for 54 yards and 4 ints....

At least the Jets have a good defense. David Garrard has had a 0 TD 4 interception game against the Texans of years past before. THE TEXANS! He has 18 games with an interception or more, and 0 TDS, let alone over 25 games with more picks than TDS. Anybody could have gone out there and POTENTIALLY done better, but we won't know because he was cut. He deserved to be cut, and should have been cut a year before.

I get it, you don't follow the Jaguars so you don't understand or read all the updates and keep up with all their news. I do.

Jacksonville Jaguars are the least profitable franchise out of all 32 teams. They're also bleeding money lately. The value of the team has gone down over $150 million in the past few years. While it is unlikely they'll be moving anytime soon because of the way their lease is structured, if things continue to go south (and they very well may) then Weaver may have no other choice.

We just got a deal done last season for naming rights on our stadium and the wording makes it near impossible to get out of over the next three years. On top of that we went and just set the record for most season tickets purchased compared to the previous season. These two facts state that we got corporate money coming in and then we got fans to start purchasing season tickets.

There are multiple articles out there stating why it is hard for a team like the Jaguars or the Bills to move and why it makes way too much sense for the Chargers or the Raiders to be the team that gets moved. I won't go into it but others can look it up if they like.

So while people can want to trash the Jaguars, overall they have a better record since coming into the league than the Panthers do, our fans are starting to show support, and there is no way we go to LA. Claim the Jags will be moved soon, fine. But it won't be LA. That is stupid talk that just can't happen. If another city wants a team four years from now, it could be us. LA WILL NOT BE THE JAGUARS.

    • Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles?  No clue.  Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles.  So there's that.   The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine.  There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV.  I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle.  I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine.  Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency.  I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s...  I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease.  Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease?  Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky.  Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive).  Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce?  Stop updating software?  I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing.  But I am still just a little concerned.  Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.
