D-will responds to criticism on his facebook

Don't think it has to do anything with gelling since Stewart has been getting it done in both the passing and running game.

I love me some Williams but he is in a slump, no doubt about it.

stewie has been gotten 80 + yards a game?

Yes, he runs harder, and therefore breaks more tackles...but neither has been running successfully...so no...d. will doesn't deserve alll the bitching you and others are giving him.

I think Skipper doesn't have that much to do with it. Obviously Stew is still having some success. Deangelo told those fans right, it will take a little time. Skipper doesn't make the line block better.

They are 1st round RB's for a reason. If it has to come down to Skipper then we might as well cut their asses.

I know they've been using Stew in a lot of the screen plays and he has been effective but they should try to get D-will in space to get him going. I don't think he has lost his speed, he's just having a difficult time breaking through the line and finding holes.

Not getting many attempts either. And I do wonder why Stewart's getting all the screens.

Looks like DeAngelo was correct.

Im sorry but if the Oline would block better Dwill would run better. No Linemen are getting to the second level and thats why Dwill is shut down. He is ether avoiding one LB and getting hit by another or ether getting stuffed in the backfield by 3 LBs. Stewart is just a fuging bowling ball and want go down and its just cause he is a freak in that manner. I dont expect Dwill to truck 3 LBs while carrying the ball and nether should any of you. When the Oline gels both back will be better.

exactly.. The whole "well stewy is doing fine, DWill must suck!" is nonsense. They are 2 completely different runners. Stewart is more effective at breaking tackles, so he can occasionally break out of a tackle or 2 in the backfield and still make a decent play out of it. DWill can't do that, hes a smaller more elusive back, and needs some help at the line of scrimmage. If he gets to that second level, look out.

There is nothing wrong with Williams. The difference is the playcalling. William's is good cutting back and out on the edge not between the tackles. THe way we are running right now really supports Stewart who is harder to take down and more durable. I don't see any plays which gets Williams out in space on the edge either through the air or on the ground. He really hasn't been very good up the middle through three games. I don't want to make excuses for him but, it is the coach's job to devise an offense which takes advantage of their personnel. I don't think we are devising plays which maximize his strengths which are shiftiness and quick acceleration but average top speed.

Yeah, DeAngelo is the type of back who can make more out of a little open space than Stewart and certainly some of that is on the OLine, but not all of it.

Anyway, hope Williams finds his spots, he's got alot left in the tank, I think.

True. I think a good reason Cam struggled w/ the Jags D scheme. I think Chicago's heavy cover 2 will cause Cam lots of issues. I think Cam is a better QB against aggressive schemes. More one on one coverage where his WRs are facing man coverage.

Chicago would be a great game for Williams and the OL to finally come together.

Your post brings back memories of grade school paper writing and the teacher commenting on how I started off too many sentences the same way.
