Fowler picks Panthers in an upset

Seems he went 15-3 in the last 18 games picking against us. He is stepping out on a limb.

Because the best Second City alums have always been masters of improvisation, and the Panthers will have to do exactly the same thing in Chicago Sunday to come away with an upset victory.

There will be a moment or two that all hinges on improv -- what Cam Newton while being chased on the full run by Julius Peppers, or what Jay Cutler does when he sees a small window that might open for a 50-yard pass or might close for an interception.

I think these teams have similar talent levels, so a couple of snap decisions will make the difference.

Uncertain defense, weak secondary, unpredictable QB performance, strong linebacker core, devastated by injuries....just to name a few.

Oh definitely, I agree with you totally, just thought it was funny. The battle will be won up front for sure though.

It seems to me that every time a game is predicted to be close it isnt and when predicted to be a laugher well it isnt. So with that logic in place i see one of two things happening either we blow the doors off the bears or.... well i guess i just see one thing happening! :)

Besides last year when the Panthers were inept, when the Bears play the Panthers, it tends to be close games. But who doesn't remember some times where Steve Smith has torched their secondary. I expect to see that again, especially with a guy like Cam who can throw it down the entire damn field with a flick of the wrist.

Unfortunatley for you Dimbee, Cam had an average game last week so he'll be hungry. Olsen will be hungry. Rivera will be extra hungry.

C.Harris will be tweeting from the sideline and count Peppers in if he feels like it.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
