Cam's Response to Olsen

Because as my mother taught me, not everything u hear and see needs to be repeated. Maybe that is why JPerson didn't make a big deal over and posted that Cam apologized instead of feeding what the reporter tweeted. Ur level of hypocrisy and obvious dislike for Cam is showing.

LOL so because I'm telling you that the guy is paid to report on what he hears on and off the football field I now "dislike" Cam....wow that's a stretch....

It really amazes me how eager you are to defend an Chicago media weasel in this thread and support that weasel by condemning a Carolina Panther.

Its almost as if you have an ulterior motive. Gosh, I wonder what that could be?

Or gosh, I could be in school to be a sports journalist so I understand what the guy's paid to do...

Or gosh, I could be interning with a major sports media company right now working as a sports journalist....

Nope, I just hate Cam....

Let me put it this way and I will get off your back about it.

I missed the game winning shot in that game from my story earlier. If you said "good game" and I was upset and said, "Fug you man I don't want to hear the sh*t right now" (which i did say) and you said "Yeah well, good game but you did miss that shot that cost us the game!" I would have knocked you the fug out. All hell would have broken loose in that locker room. I certainly don't think that anyone thought you were being a good teammate by blaming me for the loss.

Maybe I have a bad moral compass, or maybe I am small minded, or maybe I am a bad leader. But I have three championship rings and the respect of my teammates who are still my friends to this day that say otherwise.

Well I would have said that if you told me to fug off. But going into the game the culture of my teams were such that we would know as a team going in no matter what we got here together and we are leaving together no matter what. If you were the one that got us here I would have let you no before hand and you would not need to say a 4 letter word to your teammate. You do not have a bad moral compass, you seem open minded and willing to debate rationally and you seem very passionate about your beliefs which makes you a leader---we simply have differing opinions and we have bantered back and forth with respect like adults and I will take special attention to your post in the future.

The one thing we can agree on is we both love the Panthers and we will both be fans no matter what.

IDK you ask a guy to work his ass off, Play hard, be a team leader, and put the game on his shoulders, yet you dont expect him to be pissed off when he loses. Yea it was not a nice thing to say but when your a competitor it happens. You cool down and go to the man an say your sorry. Thats just what leaders do.

I mean com'on Smith has does this many time and if you went up to him after a loss like this he would have said fug off too.

andrew luck here we come!

What an ignorant statement. People you have to be realistic. We are world's ahead of last year and I think we will reach 6 wins or so and then with a good draft get some defense in here we can make a quantum leap next year back to the top of the division just as the Saints turn over the hill. Sit back enjoy the rookie of the year and what might be the most prolific rookie qb season ever in the NFL.

Ultimately I think this could be a good thing in that it is a sort of "Get on board or get out" type of mentality being set in the locker room.

We have guys who will settle for nothing less than victory and they want other guys who want nothing but victory.

No morale victories, just straight Wins and Losses, and our guys want wins. I can't say I'm upset honestly.

Ahhhhh... this explains a lot.

That I understand what sports journalism is about....I understand your frustration because it's your team but that's the nasty side of journalism. Person didn't say what was or wasn't said because he covers the Panthers. Any other beat writer from another city though....it's completely understandable for them to say something noteworthy that happened after the game to drum up excitement. That doesn't make them a bad person, it makes them a smart journalist....now if it comes out that he made the whole thing up, he will get buried but if it's remotely like he said it was then he's awesome in the Chicago media and he'll get his 15 mins of fame in the Natl media....you might not like it but that's the guys job, to promote his name and develop a brand and following...

Let me add, if I was Person in this situation I would have handled it the same way. However, if this happened to the Bears, I'm sure Person would have tweeted/reported it, he's just like any journalist. Hell, Darin Gantt chastises his twitter followers all the time, it's quite hilarious sometimes...

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
