After watching the Bucs tonight...

And considering Matt Ryan's play lately, I think Cam may already be the 2nd best QB in the division. Freeman had decent stats, but looked timid and off as he has all season. Ryan has looked much the same, dating back to the playoffs last year when the Packers stomped them.

Brees is doing his thing, but I honestly don't think it's a stretch to say that Cam is the 2nd best QB in the NFC south already. And who would've thought we'd be saying that after week 4?

Brees is still the best, but Cam has made himself a legit candidate for number two. Ryan hasn't shown much progression since his rookie year, while Freeman has. Either way although we all like to hate on Ryan, the combo of him, Freeman, and Cam sets this division for the future to be one of the league's most competitive.

Cam and Freeman will own this division in two years. Plain and simple. Matt Ryan is overrated and has always been the beneficiary of a dominating ground game. Drew Brees is great but he won't be around forever. When you think about where things stand right now you'd be crazy not to think Freeman and Cam sit atop the division in a couple of seasons.

Not to mention the Falcons just mortgaged their future on Julio Jones. Sure he's good. But they aren't gonna get any better on D drafting like that. Saints still can't play defense, their Super Bowl season they lived off of takeaways.

Taking into account age of teams, potential of QBs, age of QBs it's rather clear what the picture should be soon.

I'm not so sold on Freeman and the Bucs. Maybe that will change, but I guess when you're comparing it to what Cam has been able to do with us in just a few games Freeman looks a little behind. No way we're not in the competition for it all so long as this kids our QB. I don't think he will have it any other way.

They're not that good

I think we can win this division next season. The Saints will be tough so long as they have Brees, but I think we're well on our way to being head and shoulders better than the Bucs and Falcons. Our offense is going to be among the league's elite for quite some time, IMO.

As much as I love Cam and am happy for the way he has picked things up, to Freeman's credit he doesn't have Steve Smith, Greg Olsen and double trouble + probowl 3 probowl calibur O-linemen to make his life easier. Cam > Freeman anyways tho.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
