Considine cut; Kendric Burney released

The Considine thing is probably a "message" to special teams players. He sucked in the pre-season and in the regular season, so above all, he was consistent.

Otherwise, nothing to see here. It is our normal weekly scrub signing to show that Marty is not off fishing or playing golf.

"We had a lot of problems at WR2 and P, so we're going to solve those moving forward by cutting our backup safety and practice-squad CB. Obviously we mean business."

Did you mean LB, DT, or PK along with WR2? Feel ya on the rest just didn't understand the P!

...so at what point is Baker going to take some heat for botching the kick and hitting a line drive to Hester?

We may want to investigate replacement punters while we're at it.

eh, if you watched riveras presser baker did exactly what he was told to do. you gotta remember rivera used to work with hester and he thought those rugby style kicks would make it possible to contain him (this is assuming our special teams players held their lanes and didnt miss EASY gangtackles).

punting out of bounds is very inconsistent. You could end up kicking the ball 5 yards downfield and out of bounds and theres also the chance that the ball never actually gets out of bounds as well.

Punting out of bounds was the right thing to do. Even if it only goes 5yds, which is very very unlikely, at least it's not an instant TD for the Bears. I strongly disagree with coach on this one. When I started watching football, the mark of a good punter was his ability to punt it out of bounds inside the opponents 20. I don't know why, maybe there is some kind of unwritten agreement or something because punt and kick returns are pretty exciting, but nobody does that anymore.
