Fwiw, the website being down for this many days would bother me a lot more than the 5 bucks a month for a debit card.

My guess is that they probably released new code for their web stuff, and screwed it up. Heads are likely to roll over this one.

That being said, I use both wachovia wells, and a credit union for banking. The credit union's site goes down a lot more than wachovia's. The Credit Union has 3 employees in IT, and if there is a problem at night, sometimes they don't fix it till the morning.

Yea, I don't care about $5. I will pay that for the convenience. Their site and ATM services being down for that long is very inconvenient.

There isn't a bank in Charlotte that worth a ****!

Credit Unions are far better down here. The BIG reason I quit the Coastal Credit Union (IBM) was that they only had one office here in Charlotte. Also, unless you used their ATM machine, you got charged fees except at the green kiosks out in the parking lots.

I'm back with BB & T for now. (eh) Once I get my Workers Comp settlement, it's going to a credit union and some kind of investment company. ( I have been looking at the Military Credit union.)

lol @ bank of america's infinite fees.

today i got a letter from my credit union saying they'll cover any overdrafts up to $750. i was thinking about withdrawing all but a dollar and spending $751 to see if its true.

all my atm fees get reimbursed. and they still count towards my cash rewards total.

Give credit unions about a year and they will squeeze you too.

Probably not. The new legislation that restricted fees banks and credit unions could charge retailers only affected big banks. Smaller banks and credit unions can still charge larger fees to retailers. I don't understand the logic behind that at all, but it is what it is. :)

Since we all love the idea of knob-gobbling credit unions as though they're infallible, let's remember that most credit unions are allowed to cross-collateralize credit card accounts with automobile loans, mortgages and personal loans as well as checking and savings accounts. If you default on your credit card, they can repossess your vehicle or freeze and levy your bank accounts.

So there's that.

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
