I think it'll be close between Smitty and Stafford honestly its not a popularity contest its an actual award like MVP, Rookie of the Year. I think it'll honestly come down to whose team performs better so right now Staffords got the edge but Smitty is on pace to put up crazy numbers.

If Smitty is the Comeback player this year shouldn't that automatically make Clausen the Hold back player of last year (Player who consistently holds back his teammate from succeeding).

Smitty did, he shared it with Bruschi.

Randy Moss won his first year in NE after he had that pooty season with the Raiders where his stats were practically the same as Smittys last year.

What about Rex Grossman? Stafford never really stayed healthy enough to begin with for this to be considered a comeback. More like a breakout season.
