If someone did a muscle up at my Crossfit the way that guy did, we'd make him do it again. His grip is wrong (should be across the wrist, not the palm), and he's relying way too much on kipping. Try it from a dead hang if you want to act all badass.

Does it effect your joint strength? If not, then there's no reason you shouldn't be able to. It's really not much of a contortion, the guy in the video just makes it look spastic because he kips so wildly. It's a more fluid motion than it looks.

Seriously that guy is going to bloody his nose swinging his legs up like that.

i just have to keep an eye on it for some shoulder and chest exercises

uh no his grip is fine, and there's no such thing as relying on a kip too much. Doing them strict and doing them kipping are just two different movements, but they both count.

a false grip muscle up does not count at the games. that's why before you do one you have to rotate your wrists out and back in, like this dude did.

his DL form was poo though
