Steve Smith haters!

I could careless about the "I told you so" part of this. My problem is that so many of you half arse fans quit on a guy who did nothing but give his all and prove time and time again that he was the "real deal". If you said Smith was done or was not a top WR, then you should really apologize. REALLY.

Players do read this board and you haters should let him know what morons you all are for quitting on him.

For the mod that closed the other thread....go ahead and ban me...you're an asshole for closing that thread. The sell out fans who sold Steve Smith down the river deserve to relive their ignorant statements.

Good day!

Was anyone here really hating on Smitty? I don't think any Panther fan dislikes him. I would've have been frustrated too if I had Jimmy Pickles for a QB and I had his talents. At least Delhomme could throw a deep ball. Sure, 89 has lost a step, but he is far from done. He is an extremely smart player and great at finding ways to beat the coverage.

This scenario will happen once again this Sunday: Cam drops back then rolls out. Smith let's up just enough to get the coverage to creep up to protect from the rush, then bursts away from the CB. Cam completes a deep ball to 89 in the red zone. When it does you will think of this post.

What i found entertaining is the majority felt a 3rd round pick was worth shipping steve smith off to another team.

A third round pick.

Ya couldn't even draft a replacement for that. But they felt that would improve the team.

I doubt many will come forth, and i'm certainly not going to search old posts on my driod.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
