Any other out of state...Cam Nut Huggers out there.

I've been living in Ohio for about 10 years now and all I ever heard were laughs about my team. Why are you a Panthers fan? Why? Why? Why?

It's a bit different now. Now all of the sudden I see Cam jerseys all over town and when I wear my Panthers gear (almost daily), everyone stops me to talk about Cam.

Hell, even people at work are telling me that they are not Panther fans, but Cam fans.

This is a strange turn of events for me anyway and I was wondering in what other cities if any, that this was happening so how about it... are there any other out of market cities out there gloating over Cam and the Panthers.

I hear there are a lot of new Panther fans in Auburn, Alabama. I live in Raleigh, NC with all the yankee transplants here I see more Steelers, Eagles, Jets and Giants gear around town than Panthers gear. But when we start consistanly winning I think that will change.

I'm in Cali and I've been a Panthers fan since day one. Was wearing my jersey the other day to watch the game at Hooters with my pops. Had several people tell me I probably only became a Panthers fan because of Cam Newton. I wanted to break my beer mug over some skulls, but I have rage issues that have landed me in very hot water before so I maintained low tones.

i am also from ohio, and the same thing is happening to an extent. except i live in a military community and have my whole life, so it's no big deal for people to like teams from out of state. i know quite a few panther fans actually.

Oh don't worry... I have to constantly blast the Bengals and Browns to survive at work. Not so much any more though....Thanks Cam.

    • Sounded like Morgan wanted to have a hype phone call moment to end the draft and nobody, including Horn, was nearly as interested in making it happen.
    • Something I thought was interesting about the Horn Jr pick.  Candles didn't seem very impressed and Dan Morgan wanted "some Miami" in the room/building. I think a difference in perspective between them for late round picks. Dan valued the dang in him, Canales less interested because holes in his game.    Note : all this is based on my dumbass reaction to a 10 second snippet.
    • I'm genuinely not trying to be abrasive here but I think it is really important not to overstate Adam Thielen's significance to this offense and I get the sense some people are in a bit of a bubble in terms of their perception of his value because they are wearing Panthers shades. And that's fine mind you because it's June. But we should be realistic about some things here. He was the oldest active WR in the league last year and he will be 35 when preseason rolls around this year. We have some nice youth on the roster. We aren't likely to compete for playoffs this year barring a very nice surprise. Either way. Let's develop the young talent. It isn't about this season it's about the next several.
