ESPN NBA Player Rankings

Figured I'd post this, see what people thought:

10: Griffin

9: Deron Williams

8: Rose

7: Bryant

6: Durant

5: Dirk

4: Paul

3: Wade

2: Howard

1: James

Thoughts?

I guess maybe it's just me but I feel like Dirk deserves a raise in ranking after last year, and I'm not sure how Kobe is 7.

Y?

Paul can take over a game and change it. The knock on him is he's always, always hurt. That's why I wouldn't have him that high. Maybe they took injuries out of the equation though. Griffin to be that high so fast is kind of not fair. I would expect to see Kevin Love up there, but nope.

I don't see how Paul is overrated. I personally think he is the most well rounded PG in the league. He can score if needed, dish the rock, and play D. It's tough to put him ahead of Dirk though.

As far as the list goes, why is Blake Griffin #10? I don't get it. He has a lot to work on as far as his offensive game goes. He's exciting to watch but not the 10th best player.

I just think Kobe is aging and that is why he is so low.

paul is not overrated. when healthy he is the best pg in the league by far (this coming from a big d. will fan). Kobe should be higher and lebron is the best player as far as skill set/physical ability go but he lacks the leadership and heart to really make him #1.

Supposedly this list wasn't going to factor in potential and was suppose to be strictly as of the present time. If that's the truth, then how in the world is Blake in the top 10? Don't get me wrong, dude is a beast and will be for a long time, but as of right NOW, he doesn't deserve that #10 spot. Not to mention Dirk outplayed 2 of the 4 guys ranked above him in the finals.. :hand:

I'm not sure that he's the 4th best player in the entire league either, but to call him the most overrated player of this generation seems ridiculous given that Vince Carter is an 8-time all star. Paul's durability isn't THAT bad, he's averaged 70 games a season.

To stay on topic, I would put both Carmelo and Amare above Griffin.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
