Jay Jay (Cutler) Just Wants to Be Loved

top dawg

Recommended Posts

Coach Fox is in the business of undying love. His loyalty to Jake Delhomme is unequaled, and this makes many raise eyebrows because Jake has lost some of that shine of his youth. But, Foxy loves the security and comfort that his relationship with his QB offers, so it will take a gargantuan effort to pull his eyes and heart in another direction. This can be viewed an admirable thing, especially when your QB ain't puttin' out like he used to.

But, there is another jilted QB who feels slighted and under-appreciated. This QB is young and hot, just looking for a place to call home. Cutler just wants to be appreciated for what he brings to the house, and doesn't want to be thrown out on the street corner to the highest bidder on a whim of a young and dumb new coach.

Looking from the outside in, it would appear that perhaps Foxie and Jay Jay would be a match made in heaven. Foxie loves to love---even when it hurts---and Jay Jay just wants to be loved.

Stokin' the fires of love. Ain't it a beautiful thing?

What got Cutler's panties in a wad to begin with is Mickey D's "loyalty" to his old "spouse" (I think that's what this analogy is). I don't thing either HC is operating out of loyalty though, so the analogy doesn't ring true to me

So you're saying that Fox is not operating out of loyalty on some level? Does he just believe that Delhomme gives the organization its best chance of dancing in February? Or, is he just placing Jake on a pedestal because he has no other option? Which is it? Is it a combination of the two? Loyalty doesn't fit into the equation? Come on.

Another Cutler to the Panthers thread?

Do we not have enough already?

Please make it stop. My head hurts. It's either Cutler to the Panthers, Jake sux or Fox sux or Pepper sux. That's all anyone seems to be able to comment on these days. At least, if you're going to be a Negative Nancy, find something original...

Now, now. You have never heard me flat out say that either Fox or Delhomme sucks. I have questioned their wearing out their welcome, but I don't think either of them suck. I have basically resigned myself to the fact that they will both be here for at least 3 more years regardless of what we all think.

In regards to Cutler, I think it's still a valid philosophical question until that situation is put to rest. He still wants to go, and the coach basically said he is their guy unless another option that is better for the Broncos comes along.

Negative? Why does this have to be negative?

I had just come on and started reading a novella about how bad Fox and the organization were and how uncommitted they are to winning, (yes after last season), then came in here to read a re-hash, (no offense) of another Cutler thread and snapped. Of course it's still a valid philosophical question until it's resolved, I just wish you'd pulled up one of the other 100 Cutler threads to post your comments rather than start the 101th one...

OK, I see your point. But, I kind of believe that though you guys may argue about the technicalities of the thread, perhaps you just don't want to talk about Cutler anymore---whether in this thread, or any. I will leave it alone since it's obviously upsetting some of you.

you mean Va Jay Jay wants to be loved

That's classic! This thread was worth it just for that comment alone.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
