oh and BTW: if you ever see an unprotected fawn, i.e. with no doe in sight... NEVER APPROACH IT. Does are well known to abandon fawns that smell of human.

*edit* a large stick or other non-deadly weapon would be better, as the doe could live to raise the fawn and the dog might live as well

If a deer is standing in a populated neighborhood in the middle of the day while a cat, dog, and people are wondering around, it needs to be shot.

Much less if it attacks another animal for no reason.
