I agree with Bill Simmons' Law of Super Bowls: If you wouldn't film a Real World there, you should host a Super Bowl either.

Needs to be a steady rotation of San Diego, Miami, New Orleans and Las Vegas.

Never heard that before but that is funny and I agree also. That rotation sounds about right although throwing NYC (although not popular with all) is a nice twist as well. I also don't see a problem with Dallas hosting one either although I have never been there.

The Raiders? That was a temporary Al Davis power play Al used against the city of Oakland to get a new stadium built. It failed, Al moved back with his tail between his legs and to this day the Raiders play in an old poohole in Oakland.

Given a new stadium and a team to root for LA will fill the seats to capacity as they do for the Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings and Ducks.

Los Angeles gave Davis a lot of money to move to LA, promised a partial renovation of the Coliseum and, if you remember, the NFL was talking about pay-per-view games (this was before DirectTV). Davis had a virtual lock on the second largest media market in the country. The pay-per-view never came about, Los Angeles backed off the luxury boxes and the city of Oakland offered him a $ package to move back to Oakland, which included a renovation of the Oakland Coliseum. He made money going to LA and made money going back to Oakland.

Remember the city of Irwindale and their proposal to build the Raiders a stadium in 1988? The Raiders got $10M for that... non-refundable good faith up front money.

And who was the only football team to bring an NFL Championship to LA? Oh, that's right, the Raiders....

"On August 9, 2011, the LA City Council approved a proposal to Build Farmers Field in a 12-0 vote. The new stadium will enable an NFL team to move to Los Angeles. The stadium will be located in Downtown Los Angeles as part of the LA Live complex and is expected to be completed by 2016."

Oakland Alameda Stadium upgrade? It's where the A's play baseball, early season Raiders games are played on the Atheltics dirt infield:

Al got nothing he wanted from LA or Oakland in this power move except disappointment, litigation and the wrath of the NFL.

And as far as Championships to Los Angeles the Rams appeared in 4 NFL Championship games (Yes, there was footbal Pre-Super Bowl) and were the Champions in 1951.

The NFL should never move back to Los Angeles until ground has been broken and a locked in NFL Stadium is under construction. The fans deserve better.
