If teams start courting Chud for HC....

LOL at anyone who thinks he MUST stay here bc he's building something special, is genius with the X and O, etc. Coaches dream to be a HC. If a team offers him a job he is going to take it and more power to him. As for the question, no. Chud is as unproven as Ron. May as well stick with the guy with a year under his belt.

Here is the thing..... you have to be able to determine how much of what we're doing is Cam and how much of what we're doing is Chud. While I do LOVE the play calling creativity from Chud, it wouldn't mean a damn thing without Cam Newton under center to execute the plays. We could MUCH more easily replace Chud with somebody who thinks the same way than it would be for Chud to go somewhere else and create another Cam Newton. It cannot be done. There is only one.

Plus, Chud's playcalling when the Panthers have the lead has actually cost us a few times. Not saying he's doing a poor job, but let's be real now. Cam Newton will have OC's lined up for this job if Chud leaves for somewhere else. I know we're not used to being a desirable location for coaches but that's changing.

NFL Policy for interviewing...

http://www.dawgtalkers.net/uploads/2009%20NFL%20Anti-Tampering%20Policy.pdf

Head-Coaching Opportunity. If a club is interested in discussing its head

coaching position with an assistant coach whose playing season (excluding Pro

Bowl) is over, and who is contractually obligated to another club, the assistant

coach’s employer club must permit the coach the opportunity to discuss, and

possibly accept, such employment through March 1 of any year.

Removing Ron for Chud would be a Miami like move, and would reflect poorly on our ownership.

Since you think you know everything, let me clarify something for u...

Being that he's under contract, he would have to get permission from the FO before he would be able to talk to any other teams.

So yeah, the Panthers have plenty of say as to whether he goes or not.

Think before u type

Since you know nothing, let me clarify something for you...

The NFL does not differentiate between levels of assistant coaches in its rules regarding their availability to interview with other teams. Whether the coach is a defensive line coach or an offensive coordinator, the rules are the same. If a team wishes to interview an assistant coach who is still under contract with another team for its head coaching position, the current team is required to give permission for the interview as long as it happens between the end of the team's season and March 1. After March 1, teams can still ask, but the current team is not obligated to give permission.

A team is required, I'm assuming by the NFL Coaches Association, to allow coordinators to interview for Head Coaching jobs for other teams.

    • This play was never designed to go to either DJ or Odunze. The primary read is Burden who is stymied early, with the outlet being Kmet if Caleb doesn't like the option for Burden. Given the situation it's pretty obvious the simple play is to take the free yards with Kmet, or if you want to be aggressive just wait a beat longer for Burden to uncover on his double move. If Moore was ever going to be a viable target in this play then Caleb should have started out reading Odunze to hold the safety in the middle and then coming to Moore, but because he started the snap staring down the right and then came back to the middle late it made it where the safety's leverage remained to the outside of Moore, so he would never have imagined that pass actually being thrown to him in that situation. Realistically DJ's best option in that context is to just occupy the safety to leave a hole open for Caleb to get it to Burden, which is probably why he throttles down vs carrying the safety across.
    • Even with Sonny Styles still on the board I thought it's a no brainer to address the Oline after Icky's injury.  And how can you pass up Fano at 19 given our situation. Then the rest of the draft just kind of made sense with maybe the exception of Klubnik.  But if Canales can fix him and Young goes down. . .I think it's a solid pick. What do you think of this draft?
    • When we didn't trade him to the Rams or the Bears (I believe the Bears said they would take one of Brown/ Burns/DJ Moore) we should have just signed him and kept him.  We should have traded him to the Rams obviously and we should have kept DJ and traded Burns.  We made all three wrong choices with Burns lol.
