3-1 since playing mostly teams missing key starters

Colts-Obviously Peyton Manning

Bucs-Josh Freeman although it's arguable they're just as bad with him as they are without him. Also no McCoy and a banged up defensive line in general

Texans-No Matt Schaub, no Andre Johnson, no Mario Williams

The Panthers have been missing key starters since, like, the whole season began (Beason, Davis). Also having both Gettis and Edwards available would've helped.

It's pretty much impossible to expect all 22 starters to still be healthy and running by week 15. It's why depth is so important. However there are certain positions in which losing your starter is pretty much insurmountable. Without Schaub the Texans are not going to make it far in the playoffs (they'll be fodder for Baltimore, New England, or Pittsburgh). Their best weapon, arguably the best WR in the game has been banged up all year. Losing Beason was like losing the QB of the defense. If we had been healthier early in the season this team would've had a better chance to close out games. It wouldn't have been so easy for the Saints to muster that winning drive (they had total control of the defense and the clock).

couldn't you say the same thing about us? How nice must it have been for Atl, G.B., N.O., etc to play against a team decimated by injuries with a new coaching staff, rookie QB, new system, and no offseason? Seems like they had just as much of an advantage over us as we did to those teams without their starting QB.

Some want to call injuries an excuse. But look at the Bears, they show how injuries do hurt a team. It depends on the position(s) you lose. Like you said, if Beason and Davis had played this season we would definitely have a better record. But if Cam were to go down *nix nix nix* could we win even with Beason and Davis playing?

Hopefully over this off season and the next we find more good back ups to keep us going at the end. Because with the way key injuries get us every season, we need a good back up team.

the thing is, it's seasons like these that can build depth. Look at all the otherwise scrubs that got experience

    • McMillan could've caught that TD but whatever. Chuba, the specialists and, that's about it for being absolved. Horn made a great pick. The defensive line and linebackers may as well not exist. I think Dan might've hit on a WR pick finally, but no one else was of any value, per usual.
    • This is probably one of the only real quotables that stuck with me from my dad growing up, and now, I don’t think there’s a more fitting motto for our Carolina Panthers except they’re the ones that’s doing the pissing and telling.  They ARE pissing on our legs and saying it’s the rain. We’ve wasted two additional years in Bryce after knowing what he was from his rookie year.  No contingency plan in place.  But, plenty of fake hype about a few lightning fast glimmers of hope in contrast to the consistent, large sample size of work that he had showing he was not an NFL starting QB.  Look at the defense - where guys like Morgan, instead of addressing a position of weakness, spends the offseason telling us how great Trevin Wallace is.  How much trust they have in a guy like Cherelus(sp?).  How much they’re counting on young edge rushers Princely and Scourton…  then we get into a meaningful game and Wallace is abhorrent.  Horrible.  Disgustingly bad.  Rozeboom looks horrible.  Constantly missing tackles and out of position.  The rookie edge rushers?  I don’t even know if they played today.  And we still generate zero pressure for most of the game.     All this organization does now is LIE.  To us, to themselves. All they do is shill.  It’s a con job.  They know their product is poo, but listen to how great it is.  Believe us!
    • Why does he look like that crack head from the chappelle show?
