That's why safety especially FS, are at the top of my list as far as areas that need improvement. The two young players I have my eye on are Martin out of OSU and Mcdonald out of USC. They are sure tacklers

i don't know how you watch this team and think the safeties are solid. I think some people make statements about a player and then never change their outlook on them no matter how they actually play.

The " team depletion" song is getting very old. The Panthers just got through playing a team that is very depleted. Yet the team just lost their first game since October. I see they know how to make the best of their depleted team. What is that, they're on their fourth QB now....

Martin won the starting job from one ridiculously good game: the 2009 Regular Season Cardinals game. That game is the only reason he began to start in place of Chris Harris, and everyone here was like "OH MAH GAWD SHERROD MARTIN IS JEBUS!!!!!" I fell for it too, so don't feel bad.

Yeah, didn't take long for opposing offenses to figure him out. He's decent, but nowhere near as good as he was advertised to be.

Whats sad is that many safeties thrive in weak defenses. There are more total plays that they are involved in so you expect that to show up statistically. . .shortly thereafter some kid around here will see it and then make a case for Godfrey and Martin to be the best combo in the league.

Didnt Martin used to play CB? I've always thought he is pretty good reacting to the ball on deep throws but everything else- meh

I've thought Martin has played like sh*t and it's not just about being the last man left to tackle. he takes terrible angles and is completely expendable this offseason.
