Nolan Nawrocki has a chance to man-up and admit he was wrong

LOL, come on Nolan... it's okay to admit your "analysis" was totally wrong.

He talks about how talented Cam is and then suggests he could be another Derek Anderson hiding behind Chud's playcalling genius.

He also talks about how Cam benefits from the best backfield in football while ignoring the fact that our running game didn't get going until just recently and Cam was able to more then compensate for that with his arm.

Any GM who took Cam off his board should be fired... with the talent he flashed in college are you telling me you wouldn't have taken him if he slipped to the 2nd or 3rd round even if you had some reservations or doubts?

I'm asking myself why I would even bother to hear what Nolan has to say about Cam at this point... it's all just damage control for totally crapping down his leg in his pre-draft analysis. For the rest of his career, Nolan will be looking for ways to justify being totally wrong about Cam by referencing these "league sources" to back him up.

Sorry but no i didn't. I think Cam took a lot of people by surprise but thats no need to rip someone apart over something so small.

he never met the guy. never talked to him to form his own opinion. he went on the assumption he was a bad seed and sought out any opinion he could to support it and neglected to seek out or use the opinions of those who worked with him after leaving florida.

there is nothing at blinn or auburn that comes close to supporting what he said. it was a worthless and lazy effort at journalism and bordered on libel.

Exactly, Nolan clearly had an agenda and found information from "sources" (which may or may not actually exist) to support his thesis that Cam was bad news. He sold lots of rags with his scathing comments about Cam so: mission accomplished.

Wow, that breakdown was terrible. I thought Cam thru a pretty tight ball in college.

the worst of it was the entirely subjective character stuff that if he had done his due diligence instead of talking out of his ass he would have found his opinion to be completely rubbish.

100% agreed.

i don't know or care if it was racially motivated. he was working from a very skewed perspective and found whatever he felt was necessary to support his bias.

I don't think it was racially motivated... I suspect it was motivated by the fact that a guy like Nawrocki, who couldn't hack it as a player himself, resents someone like Cam for having so much success without "paying his dues" so to speak.

It really boils down to good old fashioned jealousy... Narwocki thinks it isn't "fair" for a guy like Cam to be so gifted and talented.

This all stems from the fact that like many, Narwocki passed judgement on Cam without really knowing all the facts. When the pay for play allegations first came out, it was assumed that Cam had something to do with it and at that point folks decided Cam was a bad guy. It doesn't matter that the NCAA investigation cleared Cam and found no indication that he had any knowledge of his fathers attempts to shop him around, the court of public opinion had ruled and Cam was a bad person. You add the stolen laptop and the traffic stop to that and we've got ourselves a villain. Cam became the poster-child for everything that was wrong with the NCAA and all the rules violations... he became the face of NCAA corruption.

With this in mind, Nawrocki set out to paint Cam in as bad a light as possible in order to punish him for violating the sanctity of college football. He claims he's getting stuff from scouts, GM's and other league sources but have any of these comments been corroborated by any other reputable draft analysts?

I love how almost everybody that comments at the bottom of the article are absolutely destroying the delusional idiot for the drivel he posted back before the season started.

Though, I feel dirty for even having to go to one of his articles.

Right on...I thought it was hilarious that someone posted what he wrote verbatim in the comments...With that context, his new article looks like a steaming pile of poo. It's more than obvious that he should have spent some time apologizing for that drivel....yet he pushes it off on others and continues to keep the door open for doubting Cam's abilities. On top of that, there is a complete rookie season of starts that have proven Cam deserves to be a starting QB in the NFL, and might just become an elite QB.
