Cam's Emotions/Body Language Redux

Have a friend who says 'can't buy into Cam because of his father and his shenigans'.

Bear in mind this friend attended BYU on an athletic scholarship.

I just sit in amazement at that statement. Newton is over 21, what his Father does or does not do, has nothing to do with him now.

I wonder if this same person would have said the same thing about Todd 'i'm a meth addict' Marinovich'.

I really believe that a lot of the criticism is because of his race and racial stereo types.

Some of it, he is just highly visible and shows his emotions both negative and positive a lot more than fans are used to seeing...Jay Cutler is another one who is criticised for his 'negative' body language.

The Golden Calf of Bristol, for the most part, sits on one knee with his helmet on by himself...why is that not criticised but Newton's towel is?

Seriously though, go back and look at Mark Sanchez yesterday and people on this board will know what negative is.

I never complained about the Panthers QBs being white, I complained they suck and we shouldnt be afraid at looking at black QBs. When we pick up a white WR or HB you just dont see hordes of our black fans attacking their character, or threatening to give up on us, or nitpicking their actions. You just dont see me creating threads hyping up Tavaris Jackson or Seneca Wallace is better than Brady because Im too proud to say a white QB is better than a black one. Lets just keep it real, the distrust and overanalyzaion is people venting over someone they cant relate to. Cam is still an outsider.

Only white WR I can think of is Proehl & nobody could be mad at him.

In regards to Cam walking past/ignoring Shula....what was your take on that?

That was about his elbow. He hurt his left elbow and Mike was trying to get him to talk about it and Cam was trying to shake it off, that was what I understood. I don't think there was anything other than that.

Idiots.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
    • Inappropriate relationship with a team staffer, followed up with some stalking behavior, and ultimately a felony home invasion charge from a visit at her apartment that culminated in him threatening her life and his as well.
