Ron Meeks

I think it's too early to jump on the 'fire meeks' bandwagon. He basically had to coach most of the season with a bunch of PS quality players. No easy feat. I'm honestly surprised he's done this well with all the injuries we've had. (You can't judge him on this Saints game, they do this to everyone). Give him another year

Watch the first screen pass and the first touchdown by the Saints today and then tell me why Godfrey should stay. A strong safety that refuses to tackle a halfback is garbage. Munnerlyn would be a better option. It's unbelievable how people throw Martin under the bus but give Godfrey a pass.

I wouldnt trade 1 Godfrey for 2 Martins. Someone should create some sort of conversion chart

Martin is incredibly bad and not just in coverage. he is a horrible tackler.

I think it is unfair to blame Meeks. As someone said earlier, without a pass rush, it is impossible to place full blame on the defensive backfield. I think Meeks has been OK with Gamble playing well. Munnerlyn is what he is, and I have liked what Butler has shown.

i cant blame Meeks here, this defense doesnt have the players to be great, the fact is that we need a DT and a 2nd CB to play opposite of Gamble. injuries and players in my book are the big reason why the defense has been so bad, i dont think the coaching has been awful, though it's hard to get a full answer on how good or bad the coaching is.

Saying Meeks should go is like firing a chef because he couldn't make sh!t into an appetizing meal. Hurney needs to give the defensive coaches something to work with.

I'm tired of Coaches getting blamed because they can't take a GM's garbage and turn it into gold. If they clearly have talent and fail, that's one thing. If they clearly don't, and fail, the blame should go elsewhere.

We'll see what kind of "season" Hurney has this Offseason.

Bingo! Cant pi ya on moble..

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
