With the 9th pick of the 2012 NFL draft the Carolina Panthers select......

Devon Still, though, is more of a true DT. He weighs 305+, he played on a very good team this year, and he anchored the middle of the defensive line.

Not to mention he was one of the leaders on the team, and we need more of those on this D.

No to Coples, he is the best option of an end class that doesn't have a dominant prospect and is overrated, stop imposing your Carolina fandom on this team. Go Kirkpatrick, big physical corner who will swallow up a teams #2 receiver, find defensive line help in the 2nd.

According to the Scouts Inc. measurements, Coples is actually 272. Also, according to Scouts Inc., he recorded 51 tackles in his career. Ahem, let me say that once again. In four years at college, he recorded 51 tackles.

I'm not of the belief we should take either of them, but debating taking Coples as a DT is ridiculous.

Plus, Coples has noted character and teammate issues. No thanks.

Sorry UNC fans.

Lmao, wow.

55 tackles this season alone...

59 last season

Then here's a recent ranking from CBSsports.

He's the second ranked DT in the draft.

There are 3 corners I'd take over Kirkpatrick right now and that will probably go up by the time the draft hits.

How about the allegations that UNC are facing right now in college, involving Coples?

What about the State game in which Coples was caught dancing and laughing on the sideline while they were getting beaten down by State? (Does he not take this poo seriously? Derek Anderson does.)

there are no allegations UNC is facing involving Coples

the sideline antics proves nothing.

there is nothing noted anywhere like I thought. You are just making poo up. Coples has drawn a double and the offense has run away from him for the majority of each snap he has taken on defense this season for a reason. Who gives a fvck about Derek Anderson? Stop talking out of your ass and people may start taking your comments seriously.

I wouldn't be too quick to take ESPN stats as gospel.

i think he's tough, but i don't trust him. i hate doing this, but i'd actually consider moving him to FS and i'd really rather not draft someone in the first couple rounds and switch their positions.

he's tall )for a corner)and that's about the biggest thing he has going for him. i'd rather have a better cover corner that was 5'10 than a 6' guy just because he could jump higher. the instances that their height would actually matter would be much less frequent than people think. if you can get a guy to give their assignment no space in man or does a good job of anticipating routes and reading the QB.

truthfully, the more i look at this class, i like jenkins more and more. not necessarily better than claiborne but if i was forced to choose a #2 in the draft it would be jenkins.

i just don't trust kirpatrick.
