Actually i think that most of the time the winner is the guy who comes back from injury more often than coming back from a bad season.

If Smith or Romo gets it, they should change the name of the award, since neither technically "came back", they just played better.

I think the award should always go to someone who came back from injury and played well, even if the injury occurred this season and kept them from playing most of it, but they "came back" at some point, and did well.

Clearly applies more to Romo than Smith, but he was never out for long.

Romo was injured week 7 last season. How did he not come back?

Won't be Bush..or Sproles...it's the Comeback Player of the Year, not the Breakout Player of the Year. You have to be there to be able to come back, which doesn't apply to Bush or Sproles.

1) Matthew Stafford-- injured the past year, this year, passes for 5000 yards and takes lions to the playoffs

2) Alex Smith-- takes 49ers to playoffs after having struggling years

3) Reggie Bush-- came out hyped and had a really good year, ran for 1000 yards for first time in his career.
